【摘要】:Thetypesofroperescuesystemstowhichthistestmethodapplyuseatensionedmainlineanduntensionedbelayline.Ifafalloccursbecauseofamainlinesystemfailureormisuse,considerableenergymustbeabsorbedbythebelayforasuccessfularrest.Thisdroptestmethodsimulatesax201C;worstcasex201D;conditionwhensystemsareoperatedasdesigned,andisdesignedtohelpevaluateandcomparetheperformanceofvariousroperescuebelaysystemsundersuchconditions.(SeeNote1.)Thesuccessfulcatchingofaloaddoesnotimplythatthetestedsystemissuitableforanyandallbelaying.SeeX1.2.Note18212;Higherforcesmaybeencounteredundersomecircumstances,suchasthebelaybeingoperatedwithexcessiveslack.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdroptestprocedurestomeasureroperescuebelaysystemperformance.Itappliesonlytobelaysystemsconsistingofanuntensionedropeconnectingtheloadtoananchoredbelaydevice.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddressothertypesofbelays,suchasself-belaysorbelaysforleadclimbing,nordoesittesttherescuer''sbelayingability.1.2Thistestmethodmaybeusedtohelpmeasurearescuebelaysystem''sperformanceundercontrolleddroptestconditions,butitwillnotnecessarilyprovideguidanceastowhichbelaymethodismostsuitedtoaparticularapplication.Otherconsiderations,suchaseaseofhandling,performanceondifferenttypesanddiametersofrope,portability,versatility,systemsafetyfactor,cost,andautomaticoperationthatdonotrequirethepositiveactionofthebelayermayinfluencetheselectionofabelaysystemandarenotdealtwithinthistestmethod.SeeX1.1.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.4Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcernsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityofwhoeverusesthisstandardtoconsultandestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Additionalprecautionsforthistestmethodaregivenin8.1and8.2.
