【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardprovidesguidanceontheselection,useandmaintenanceofchemicalprotectiveclothingwhereitishasbeenestablishedthattheuseofsuchclothinginoneformoranotherisnecessaryforthetasktobeundertaken.Thestandardisprimarilyintendedforusers,specifiersandotherswhohaveresponsibilityfortheprocurementandprovisionofchemicalprotectiveclothing.Thestandardisintendedtoassistinchoosingthecorrecttypeofchemicalprotectiveclothingforthetasktobeundertaken,andtohelpensurethatitisusedinthecorrectmannerandcontinuestoprovidetheprotectionforwhichitwasintendedduringthelifetimeoftheclothing.Forthepurposesofthisstandard,chemicalprotectiveclothingisclothingwhichisusedtoprotecttheskinagainstcontactwithsolids,liquidsandgases.Thisincludesasbestosbutexcludesmicrobiologicalorradioactivehazards.Thestandarddoesnotrelatetoclothingintendedtoprotecteitheraproductoranenvironmentfromcontaminationbypersonnelwearingtheclothing.Chemicalprotectiveclothingcanbeacombinationofspecificindividualitemsorgarments.Thisstandardcontainsadvicerelatingtosomesuchindividualitemsbutexcludesadviceoncertainotheritemswheresuchadviceistobefoundelsewhere,forexampleeyeprotection,bootsandgloves(seeAnnexB).
