【摘要】:RefractiveIndex8212;Therefractiveindexofaninsulatingliquidvarieswithitscompositionandwiththenatureandamountofcontaminantsheldinsolution.Changesofrefractiveindexwithtimeandservicemayformabasisforestimatinganychangeincompositionorthedegreeofcontaminantacquiredinservice.Forelectricalinsulatingmineraloils,thewavelengthof5893x02DA;Aforthespectrallineofsodiumiscommonlyused.Thetesttemperatureis25x00B0;C.SpecificOpticalDispersion8212;Specificopticaldispersionservesasaquickindextotheamountofunsaturatedcompoundspresentinanoil.Dispersionvaluesforparaffinicandnaphtheniccompoundsarenearlythesameandareessentiallyindependentofmolecularweightandstructuraldifferences.Valuesabove97bearadirectrelationshiptotheamountofaromaticcompoundspresentininsulatingoil.Forconvenience,thespecificdispersionvalueismultipliedby104.Forelectricalinsulatingmineraloils,thewavelengthsof6563and4861x02DA;Acorrespondingtothespectrallinesofhydrogenarecommonlyused.Alternatively,thewavelengthsof6678and5016x02DA;Acorrespondingtothespectrallinesofheliummaybeused.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftherefractiveindexandthespecificopticaldispersionofelectricalinsulatingliquidssuchasareusedincapacitors,transformers,circuitbreakers,andoil-filledcables.1.2Twotestmethodsaredescribed,aroutinemethodandamorepreciserefereemethod.Bothmethodsareapplicabletotransparent,light-colored,insulatingliquids.1.2.1Theroutinemethodisusedtodeterminerefractiveindexandspecificopticaldispersionasdescribedinthesetestmethods.1.2.2Therefereemethodisusedwhenatestofhighaccuracyisdesired.ThesemethodsaredescribedinTestMethodD1218.SpecificopticaldispersioniscalculatedbydividingtherefractivedispersionvaluedeterminedinTestMethodD1218bytherelativedensity(specificgravity)(seeTestMethodD1298)oftheliquidundertest.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
